Loading Files

System Control Panel

Functions: (from left to right):

Open Files: Select image file(s) (DICOM or AVI greyscale) using the file selection dialog. [Control-O]
Load Previous Files: Load the the previous viewed images (if available). [Control-L]
Open Dicom CD: Load all the Image files from the current CD. If the CD Auto Reader option is enabled, the CD will load after being inserted.

Window Width/Level

W/L Control Panel

Functions: (from left to right):

Width: Enter the desired Window Width (contrast) via the keyboard. Adjust the Width interactively by dragging the cursor left / right over the image.
Level: Enter the desired Window Level (brightness) via the keyboard. Adjust the Level interactively by dragging the cursor up / down over the image.
Auto: When this option is checked, the initial W/L settings will be set by the values defined in the image file. If no values are defined then the default will be 256 / 128.

Viewer Controls

Player Control Panel

Functions: (from left to right):

Play: Start/Resume Cine play. [Space Bar]
Stop: Stop play mode and rewind clip.
Pause: Pause Cine play. [Space Bar]
Previous File: Load the previous image file. [Up Arrow]
Previous Frame: Display the previous frame. [Left Arrow]
Next Frame: Display the next frame. [Right Arrow]
Next File: Load the next image file. [Down Arrow]
Play Mode: Select the next play mode. [M] The modes are: Repeat, Ping Pong, and Continuous. In Continuous mode, the next file will play after the last frame of the current cine clip.
Zoom : When this button is selected the image will be zoomed to fit on the display, otherwise the zoom factor is 100%. [Z]

Frame Slider Bar: This indicates the current frame position of the cine clip. When not playing, drag the slider to display the desired frame.
Frame Rate Slider Bar: Drag the slider to adjust the desired play rate (1-60 frames per second). The actual play rate is displayed here.

Options

Right click on the mouse to enable the program menu.

Load Files on Startup: Re-load the previous viewed files when the program is started.
Auto CD Reader: Automatically open a Dicom CD when it is inserted in the drive.
Auto Hide/Show: Restore (display) the viewer when a CD is inserted. Minimize (hide) the viewer when the CD is removed. Press the Esc key to minimize the viewer at any time.
Skip Frames: When loading a cine clip into the viewer the current frame displayed will be determined by the current clip time. Disable this option to play each frame regardless of poor play performance by slower computers.
Show Preview Frame: When this option is enabled, the center frame of each run will be displayed when the cine run is selected. Otherwise, the cine run will start to play when selected.
Display Study Info: When this is enabled, the information about the study/exam will be displayed in a moveable window. The text may also be copied to the clipboard and pasted to other applications. This option may also be enabled/disabled by pressing the I key.
Image Alignment: Select this submenu to align the image to the left, right or center of the screen.

Control Panels

Right click on the mouse to enable the program menu.

Select options from the menu or use the F1 key to hide or show all panels.
Use the F2 - F5 keys to hide/show individual control panels.

Thumbnail Display

Thumbnail Selection Window

Use the F4 key to hide/show this window.
Click on an image to select a file.
Double-click to play a file.

Multi-Frame Display

To enable Multi-Display press a key from 2 through 8.
To return to normal mode press the 1 key.

Next Page: Press the [Down Arrow] key or the Space Bar to display the next page of images.
Previous Page: Press the [Up Arrow] key to display the previous page of images.
Next Image: Press the [Right Arrow] key to re-display starting at the next image.
Previous Image: Press the [Left Arrow] key to re-display starting at the prior image.

Image Processing

Image Processing Panel

Use the F3 key to hide/show this panel.

Button	Description
Edge Enh	Edge Enhancement: Enhance the borders of contrasting objects.
Edge Det	Edge Detection: Use this to display only the borders of contrasting objects..
Variable	Variable Filter: When this is enabled, use the slider bar to interactively adjust the degree of smoothing or sharpening.
Minimum	Minimum Filter: This filter will replace the pixels with the smallest value of the neighboring pixels.
Median	Median Filter: This filter will replace the pixels with the median value of the neighboring pixels.
Maximum	Maximum Filter: This filter will replace the pixels with the largest value of the neighboring pixels.
Advanced	Use the functions in FP Image for further processing. This will launch a new FP Image Window and load the current image files into the new Viewer.
2 Frame Avg	Use this to average the current frame with the previous frame.
3 Frame Avg	Use this to average the current frame with the previous and next frames.
Apply to Images	Click this button to replace all the frames with the current image processing settings. This can speed up play speed on processed images in slower computers. It can also be used to apply multiple image processing operations to the same images.

AVI Conversion

Right click on the mouse to enable the program menu.

Current Run: Convert the current run to an AVI file. [A]
All Loaded Runs: Convert all the loaded runs to AVI files in batch mode. [B]

Select an output AVI file.
Multiple file conversion must have an incrementable filename.
After the frames have been formatted the Video Compression dialog box will appear:

Select a codec and compression quality. However, results will vary).
Click on Preview to view thumbnails of the compressed frames. Compression codecs will fail if the reported ratio is 100%.
Click OK to create the output file. Cancel to quit.
The compression progress will be shown in the status bar.
If the compression fails, you will need to select another codec.
