Selecting Files

Use this to select a single image file.

  1. From the menu select  [ Files | Open File ]
  2. Upon sucessful loading,  the image and tags will be displayed.

Anonymizing Dicom Files

Use this to create an anonymous Dicom file.

  1. From the menu select  [ Files | Anonymize File ]
  2. Select the new target file to create.
  3. All patient information will be removed from the new file.

Searching

Use this to select a new search path and update the image database.

  1. From the menu select  [ Files | New Search Path ]
  2. Select the drive or path to search.
  3. File searching will start and the statistics will update in the status bar.
  4. After all the files have been searched the results will be sorted and displayed.

Updating Files

Use this to update the image database using  the current search path for valid image files when image files have been added or deleted.

  1. From the menu select  [ Files  | Update Database ]
  2. File searching will start and the statistics will update in the status bar.
  3. After all the files have been searched the results will be sorted and displayed.

Patient List

The image file database entries are displayed here.  Initially,  only the Patient headers are displayed.  These are arranged as:

Patient Name - Patient ID
>   Modality -  Series - Date
>>  Image(s)


Image Display

When the Image Display is enabled,  the image from selected file will appear in the image box.  The displayed image may be Zoomed/Panned and the Window Width/Level may be adjusted.  For cine images,  only the middle frame of the run will be displayed.


Exporting the Image

From the menu select  [ Edit | Copy Image to Clipboard ]  to copy the currently displayed image to the Clipboard.  The image may then be pasted to other applications.
 

Window Width/Level

Select the  [ Options | Auto W/L ]  menu option to set the initial Width and Level values as designated from the current image file settings.  This has no effect when the W/L values are omitted from the file.

To adjust the values manually:

  1. Enter the desired Width and Level values in the edit boxes using the keyboard.
  2. Press the  Enter  key to apply these values to the image display.
Adjusting the W/L interactively:
  1. Using the mouse,  drag the cursor up/down over the image to adjust the Level.
  2. Drag the cursor left/right to adjust the Width.


Zoom

Set the current zoom factor from the Zoom selection box.


Cine Play Functions

When an 8 bit XA multi-frame is selected the Cine Play controls will appear.



Converting to AVI
Note: Depending on the compression codec,  quality,  total frames and image content,  compression time could be quite lengthy.
